Studio Renovation, Time for Change!
In just few months I will have been working in this current Studio for 6 years and Live Streaming as well. I started in the bedroom at this same desk then we took this bedroom and set it up for the studio in 2020. I know I am one of those Home Studio Guys, and I do work from home part of the time. See my studio is for consulting as well as a base to work from. So after almost t6 years it was time to change things up and make the studio feel way more warm and inviting. I was not the only one who felt a bit overwhelmed when I walked in. Many of the guests and even my wife's clients who wanted to see the place we shoot her podcast from would say on their way out. That’s crazy... some even used the words overwhelmed.
So I took everything out except part of my desk for a table to work on and we painted. After it for sure felt warmer and richer with this darker color. I added more H track and spot LED lights to warm up the walls. I got rid of the black packing blanket I was using for sound deadening behind my desk and got some legit acoustic panels and placed them behind my desk. I pulled down the soft boxes that hung from the ceiling and the back lights on a auto pole above the back of the room. It took about three Tubs of gear out and streamlined my set up as much as I could. I still might add a throw rug, and I need to still add tech desk that folds up and down out of the way on the back wall next to my PC. Because I have new devices to test and train on it’s a extra needed to work area without adding more things on my current desk. I have a behind the scenes video releasing soon and these are before and after photos so you can see what I was talking about. I hope this looks and feels as good to weekly Live Streams audience as well as my in studio live guests and those who visit.
